Overview:
CFI Funding:
ResearchNB requires that prior to a CFI Matching Fund (JELF or College Fund) application being submitted to us, that an application to the EoI must be submitted.
The application will be reviewed for alignment to a priority sector (or if there is not alignment, its potential impact for NB). ResearchNB will also consider our capacity to fund a given award before recommending a file for submission to our CFI Program.
Once a researcher has submitted their application to the CFI program, they should complete the short EoI application within two weeks of submission to the CFI.
Note: recommended does not mean approved. In this instance, it means that there is alignment with ResearchNB's mandate and capacity to fund this application and pending a successful expert review, a final decision will be rendered.
Upon completion of an expert review by ResearchNB and confirmation of funding from the CFI, applicants will be notified via a message from the portal of the funding decision. If successful, an application will be created in the ResearchNB application portal for that researcher in the CFI Matching Fund. They will need to complete this short application and upload their CFI award letter.
Once this application is completed, it will be awarded for the amount indicated in the EoI application and begin status reporting 1 year from award date.
Impact Fund Applications:
ResearchNB strongly recommends that prior to an Impact Fund application being made that an application to the EoI be made.
Regardless if the funding that will be used to match the ResearchNB funds is requested or secured, the application will be reviewed for alignment to a priority sector. ResearchNB will also consider our capacity to fund a given award before recommending a file for submission to the Impact Fund.
